Why She Cannot Sleep
When sleeping next to others she would always
curl her soul up into a ball,
try to minimize the space that her presence took up;
It did not matter how she felt about the body next to her -
the thought of entangling herself in another person as she slept was
frightening
perhaps even
somehow Impossible.
With you, however,
that changed.
She needed you next to her to sleep,
Needed your arms wrapped around her,
Needed your warmth behind her,
Needed you all around her.
Frankly I think she just
needed
For the first time.
She could face you as she slept,
where she never could before,
where she would refuse to do more than share half the space;
